About Carrefour

Carrefour is a French multinational retail corporation headquartered in Massy, France.

The eighth-largest retailer in the world by revenue, it operates a chain of hypermarkets, groceries and convenience stores globally. Launched in the region in 1995 by UAE-based Majid Al Futtaim, they operate Carrefour in over 30 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Today, Majid Al Futtaim operates over 320 Carrefour stores, serving more than 750,000 customers daily.

Challenges

In the year 2020, Carrefour witnessed hyper growth within its retail stores in the region,

and wanted to expand even more on its ecommerce platform which not only offered convenience but also promised to make its consumers’ lives easier.

Carrefour wanted a partner that could help them identify and mobilize relevant influencers who could promote this new app, increase customer awareness, and generate more orders with Carrefour Now. It also wanted to show its consumers that it was undergoing a digital transformation to bring an added level of comfort and convenience to its consumers.

campaign plan by identifying
Carrefour’s goals and pain points.

This meant selection of influencers whose target audience was aligned with Carrefour’s target audience, gifting these influencers with a curated product list so that they could try out the product. In order to ensure consistency with brand guidelines and strict quality control, the identified influencers were also provided with a detailed campaign brief and script. This also ensured that the influencers were aligned with Carrefour’s goals of driving sales and maximizing conversions, specifically on Carrefour Now, through this campaign.

Results

In a campaign spread across UAE over 4 Days and with over 12 celebrity influencers, Carrefour Now managed to see an incredible growth in the number of transactions on the app, with the following results:
